Apart from the measures applied for conservation, we recommend our customers to have a register or inventory of damages compiled to record the current state of preservation of their documents. The damage register not only documents the damage but also includes information on the conservation and restoration work that has been carried out and includes relevant graphic documentation.
Once the state of conservation of a collection is known, it is possible to plan future lines of action, establish priorities and monitor the evolution of the damage.
Damage registers include graphic documentation and Excel table files that can be quickly accessed and are easily expandable and modifiable in the future.
